Let’s Do This expands leadership team with two key executive hires

Rob Fearn
Partner Engagement Lead

Let’s Do This, the leading consumer marketplace and technology platform for participation events has today announced the expansion of its senior leadership team with two new appointments. Jessica Scelzi joins as Chief Revenue Officer, while Gareth Bartman joins as Chief Financial Officer. Marking a significant step-forward for the business, the pair will play a crucial role in progressing our US-based expansion already well underway.

Austin-based Jessica joins with an established reputation for growing teams and products from scratch. She arrives at LDT fresh from her previous role as CCO at insurance marketplace site The Zebra, where she led both B2B & B2C Sales functions, helping the company to grow to $100M+ revenue annually.

Charged with heading up our go-to-market and business development strategy, Jessica will lead Sales, Partner Success & Customer Service functions. A self-confessed lover of the outdoors, she lives with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs in Austin, TX.

On her appointment, Jessica said:

“I’m excited and energized to be joining such an incredibly talented and bright group of people at LDT! In a time where everyone is looking down at their phones and the concept of a metaverse gaining traction, I couldn't be more thrilled to help build a company all about enabling people to live a healthy life of purpose and human connection. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”

Gareth is a proven financial leader with more than twenty years of experience. Most recently serving as Acting CFO at Expedia for Business (part of Expedia Group) he led a team of 150 people, supporting a division generating $17BN of annual gross bookings. With a passion for building teams and developing talent, he heads up a nascent finance team at LDT across commercial, FP&A, and pricing strategies.

Having spent 15 years in Switzerland, he recently returned to the UK along with his wife and 3 young sons, and as a keen runner, is looking forward to ticking off a whole host of events in 2023.

Gareth commented:

“While leaving Expedia was an incredibly tough decision, the opportunity to combine work with my personal passion was simply too good to turn down, and I’m excited to be here. The financial decisions and progress the organization has made so far are immensely impressive, and I’m looking forward to getting to work building out our financial strategy and helping LDT grow further.”

Speaking about the appointments, co-founder and CEO Sam Browne said:

“To be able to hire not one, but two executives of Jessie and Gareth’s caliber at the same time is amazing, and testament to how far we’ve come as an organization over the last year. The experience they bring will be invaluable as we continue to grow and improve our offering to event organizers and consumers alike, and I’m looking forward to seeing the impact they make.”

Both starts are effective immediately.
